What you are about to see and hear is part of a The Emanuel Swedenborg reading
and meditation group discussion at the Church of the Holy City in Washington,
D.C., the national Church.
The church emphasizes the writings of Emanuel
Swedenborg, an 18th century
scientist and religious mystic who died in London, England in 1772.
Swedenborg had no intention of founding a new denomination, but a circle of
those who had found special meaning in his religious writings established a
Swedenborgian Society that gave birth to a church with parishes in North America,
Europe, Africa and the Far East.
Everyone is cordially invited to
attend. Fresh perspectives are especially welcomed.
