"Music of the Angels"
PERFORMERS
Ji Yoon Park
Ji Yoon Park began her piano studies at the age of eight in her
native Korea. Her intense study was developed by several Professors at Seoul
National University College of Music. Since then, her serious study of piano
has resulted in numerous achievements and awards. Her recitals were given at
Sejong Center and the National Theater of Korea. When she came to the United
States, she attended at Northern Virginia Community College and while there,
she studied with National Symphony pianist Dr.Lisa Emenheiser. After she
transferred to the School of Music at George Mason, she has been studying
with the Russian renowned pianist, Dr.Anna Balakerskaia. She is currently
pursuing the Master Degrees of piano performance at School of Music at
George Mason.
Ji Yoon Park participated in the Young Artist Competition when she came to
the United States. She was also selected as a soloist performed the Mozart
Piano Concerto No.23 with the McLean Symphony Orchestra conducting by
Maestro Fleary at the 250th Mozart Anniversary finale concert. Summer in
2007, she was invited to one of the Major International Music Festivals in
Europe, Schlern International Festival in Italy. She has performed a lot of
chamber music with world’s renowned musicians while there. In 2008, she has
received a special invitation from Schlern International Music Festival in
Italy. As a result of a winner, she performed the Schumann piano concerto
with George Mason Orchestra in 2008. Ji Yoon Park was invited to the Geneve
International Music Competition in Switzerland and performed at Geneve
Conservatory. In the following year, The McLean Symphony Orchestra selected
her as a special guest for their upcoming concert in 2009 and performed
Mozart Double Concerto and Schumann piano concerto with them at the finale
concert.
Ji Yoon Park has received as first prize winner in the major competitions at
The Korean Times, The Korean National Music Society Piano Competition and
others. She has received the First Watkins Prize and 1st prize at Spring
Music Compettion at Northern Virginia Community College. She was a finalist
at Schlern International Music Competition in 2007 and 2008. She was a
winner of a concerto competition at School of Music at George Mason and
featured as a soloist at the All-Steinway Concert at School of Music at
George Mason.
